So today I’m thinking about poker link building services. If you know of a decently-priced, competent poker link building service, I’d like to hear about it. Here’s what I was able to find in the search engines:
- Google results for poker link building services
- Yahoo results for poker link building services
- Bing results for poker link building services
- Ask results for poker link building services
I’m also thinking about offering poker link building services myself. If you’re interested in talking about doing something related to your poker link building strategy, then please get in touch.
Google Poker Link Building Services
If I’m going to hire someone who’s going to be building poker links for me, then I’m going to hire someone who demonstrates an excellent command of the English language. The poker links that matter are the hardest poker links to get, so building poker links is a high-trust sales conversation. (Please note that I don’t mean that someone who is building poker links for me is going to be buying or selling links. But convincing someone to link to my content is a kind of sales.)
Are there any poker link building services who offer a high-trust user experience?
Looking at one of the top results in Google for this phrase, I see something about how some particular “services is” right for me. Being unable to use the appropriate verb disqualifies this poker link building service from consideration instantly.
Another of the top results is for a company in Pakistan, and the first sentence on their page has more grammatical errors than I care to describe.
Another company assures me that “We are expert in Gambling, Casino, and One Way Poker Link Building…” Sorry, but if you don’t know when to use “experts” instead of “expert”, and you randomly capitalize words like “gambling”, then you’re not the poker link builder for me. Even if you do charge only $20 per link.
Not all the results in the SERPs are poker link building companies either. Some of the results are from places like Getafreelancer, where people are advertising that they’re looking to hire a poker link building company. I wrote yesterday about why I thought that some of the people advertising to hire someone to do poker website link building for them don’t understand what kind of service they really need or why, so I won’t go into it again today. But I see the same kinds of erroneous thinking in these ads today.
One of the highest search results was a 2005 post on the Casinomeister message board.
If I were going to hire someone to conduct a poker link building campaign for me, I’d prefer to hire a poker link building service that actually ranks well for that phrase. If their poker link building campaigns are high quality and effective, then ranking for the phrase that best describes the service they provide should be a foregone conclusion, shouldn’t it? It shouldn’t be hard for a professional poker link building company to outrank a message board post from Casinomeister and a couple of classified ads.
Another company includes the word “India” in their title tag, as if the phrase “poker link building india” is going to inspire any kind of confidence in that firm’s abilities. I’ve used freelancers from India for tasks related to my business, and I’ve had some excellent experiences. But the differences in English as used in India and English a used in the USA or England are dramatic. These differences would make an India poker link building campaign less effective than I’d like. Someone hiring poker link building from India is looking for price and volume rather than value and quality, which is the wrong approach.
One of the results for this search (VirtualAssistant.org) states that, “If you link to Bulgarian car rentals, poker sites and cheap airfare, you are defeating the purpose of linking.” I link to poker sites from here all the time, and I doubt I’ve “defeated the purpose of linking” by doing so. And if I ran a travel portal, and I might one day launch a travel portal, then you can be assured I’ll probably link to something using the phrase “cheap airfare” at some point.
So yeah, this particular site is well-written and seems a little more trustworthy than the other results, but they don’t “get it” either, really.
Yahoo Poker Link BuildingĀ Services
The Yahoo results for “poker link building services” actually returned some more appropriate companies, but I question why they couldn’t rank well in Google for this phrase. The top result for a poker SEO company which offers a poker link building service actually has a professional looking page, and I’d consider hiring them except for one thing. They don’t provide any personalization at all. I can’t tell who runs this site or who works there. If I could, I’d consider hiring them. As it is, I’m concerned about their credibility.
Once you get a little bit lower in the Yahoo SERPs, you start running into stuff that isn’t at all appropriate to this query. The #10 result for this phrase on Yahoo is a page on PokerStars about “Third Party Tools”. I don’t see much relevance at all. And I’m sure that PokerStars isn’t available to hire for the purpose of link popularity building for my poker site.
A search page from Mahalo comes up as a Yahoo result for this, but that’s not particularly useful. In fact, I hate it when a search in one search engine brings up a page of search results from another search engine in the results.
A .ws website offering generic link building services comes up in Yahoo too, but the page is full of generic, bland copy that looks like it cost a penny a word or less. And the stock images of the people who supposedly work there inspire no confidence either. I’m not going to hire a company that’s offering a “globel solution” either. (I’m sorry, but if you can’t spell “global” correctly on your site, then you’re not qualified to conduct link building campaigns.)
I found one site in Yahoo that looked like they might offer a reasonable poker link building service, but then I saw the price list. Anyone who promises to get me 2000 links from directories isn’t going to be the person I hire. (No matter what the price.)
Bing Poker Link Building Services and Ask Poker Link Building Services
The results in Bing and Ask are of similar quality to the results from Google and Yahoo. I’m not going to go into as much detail about the poker link building services listed in those search engines because there’s a lot of overlap, and the sites that aren’t overlaps with the other engines are just a variation of the song I’ve been singing.
So What Conclusion About Poker Link Building Services Can You Draw From This?
If you offer consulting related to building poker links then you should work on your own Internet visibility strategies. If your own link popularity strategies aren’t enough to get you into the top 10 for all these search engines for such a non-competitive, niche phrase, then you’re either not trying or you’re not good at building links.
The number of link building services who specialize in poker are woefully small. This is an opportunity for someone who’s interested in providing quality poker link building services. I’d be delighted to be able to hire a poker link building service for $2000 – $3000 to provide me with insights and strategies into where I should be looking for poker links. If I could find someone who was willing to spend 30 days with me defining my link building strategy and helping me actually build quality links, I’d be glad to pay them $15,000.
And I wouldn’t look for silly criteria like how high the PR is on the links, or whether or not the links were reciprocal, or how many links I was able to get. A dozen or two dozen great quality links can propel a poker site into the top 10 in the SERPs for dozens of hugely popular keyword phrases
In fact, maybe I should start offering poker link building services myself. If you’d be interested in such a service, get in touch.
